Our Story

A table among
the plane trees

Tucked beneath the century-old plane trees of Adelaide's most cherished boulevard, Restaurant Botanic ADL is a sanctuary for the senses. Here, the line between garden and kitchen blurs — every dish begins with what is seasonal, local, and at its peak.

Our dining room is intimate and unhurried. Tables are generously spaced, lighting is soft and warm, and the only soundtrack is the gentle murmur of conversation and the occasional rustle of leaves through open French doors. It is a space designed for lingering — for long lunches that drift into afternoon, for candlelit dinners that stretch late into the evening.

We work with a small network of South Australian growers, foragers, and producers. Native ingredients — finger lime, saltbush, lemon myrtle, wattleseed — appear throughout the menu, not as gimmicks, but as an honest expression of the land we call home.

Venue & Events

A space for
every occasion

Whether it is a milestone birthday, an intimate wedding reception, or a corporate gathering that demands something beyond the ordinary — our private dining room and garden terrace adapt beautifully to your vision.

For regulars, we offer a space that feels like a home away from home — a familiar table, a remembered wine preference, a kitchen that knows exactly how you like your lamb cooked.

What our guests say

"An extraordinary dining experience. The native ingredients menu is genuinely inventive — the wattleseed crème brûlée alone is worth the visit. Sitting under the plane trees at sunset was magical."

"We hosted our wedding reception in the Garden Room. The team handled every detail with such care — the table settings with native flowers, the custom menu, the wine pairings. It was everything we hoped for."

"The barramundi with lemon myrtle beurre blanc was one of the best fish dishes I have had anywhere in Australia. Service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive. We will be back."
